Pear Tree Creative is an editorial studio for writers, founders, and institutions building the books, brand narratives, and family archives worth keeping.
I. Who We Are
Pear Tree Creative was founded for the stories no one was expected to tell, for the ones others don't have the patience to tell properly. We work with authors finishing the book they've carried for years, founders whose brand voice needs the same attention as their business process, and families holding histories that deserve more than a shoebox in a closet.
Our approach borrows less from marketing and more from publishing: read carefully, edit honestly, and put into the world what is written to last.
"If there is a book that you want to read, but it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it."— Toni Morrison
II. What We Do
Manuscript development, structural and line editing, and guidance from first draft to bound book.
Narrative strategy and copywriting for founders and institutions whose values are more than a mission statement.
A sharper, second set of eyes for authors, executives, and institutions putting words into the world.
Oral histories, family archives, and institutional records shaped into something that outlasts the people who lived it.
III. The Work
With Mental Health Practitioner Victoria Dover

Brand storytelling and campaign copywriting for a beauty brand built on founder's vision.
A collection of short stories and poetry exploring memory and inheritance, written with Yvette English.

IV. A Note From the Founder
Pear Tree Creative is a lifelong dream. I started writing because I grew tired of not seeing myself fully in literature, and decided one day to write myself in. When others got word, they too wanted their stories told and their voices heard. The rest is fourteen years of history.
Formerly Gates Creative Group, we're now a small studio with a larger purpose. We're still doing what we started out to do — tell stories that bring perspective, and build legacies. Every project is treated as something meant to stand the test of time, and gets the same care, curiosity, and attention I give my own work.
Thank you for trusting us with yours.
— Sheena Gates, Founder & Editor
